Episode Thirteen: How to Scare the Chic Geek Girls

It's midseason cliffhangers season and T:SCC and Heroes ROCKED! We bring you an episode of massive proportions. Our friends Tim and Frank join us to discuss these two awesome episodes. They're both losers, but we love them anyway. No, seriously, you should listen, and then go check out their podcasts as well (Crossroads and Frank's Music Free-For-All, both of which are located in our Links section on the right).

Ky here, sorry it took so long to get this episode out, there were some issues with the files. But it is up now! Look for our Star Wars special with Steve from the Geek Out Loud Podcast (the official podcast of Geekoutonline.com) sometime this weekend!

I'm finally all caught up. Yay.

This was yet another great episode and I like the inclusion of Tim and Frank for a more round-table style banter. I'll definitely check out their individual podcasts.

T:SCC - I'm guessing that Riley was born either just before or after Judgment Day, because her origin finally reveals why, throughout the season, she's been running around, looking at and touching and trying on as many new things as she can. I thought this twist might have been a last minute addition by the writers, but it's starting to feel like something they've been planning all along.

While I think they were a little slow and loose in the way they dragged out the Three Dots mystery, I love the sudden twist it took. I'm not sure what to believe with the craft in the sky: is it a military prototype that will somehow become a part of SkyNet down the road, or is it assembled by Terminators from the future? The fact that it has Terminator language written on it is a bit of a giveaway, but John Henry doesn't currently use those symbols, so it still might be something he comes across later on. Man, they've really got me guessing.

And I love how, through the flashes of her past, Sarah seems to be returning to the crazed places Linda Hamilton brought to life in T2, where she also had flashes and vivid dreams. I think, with pending revelations surrounding Riley, and his mother's increasingly erratic state, that they might finally be gearing up John to take over the role of leader near the end of this season. I'm very interested to see where this goes.

As for Kyle's upcoming appearance, it'll be interesting to see how this plays into their mechanics of time travel. It's gonna be either brilliant or terrible.

TERMINATOR: SALVATION - Other than the giant robot at the end, which felt a little too TRANSFORMERS for my tastes, I'm really looking forward to this film. Granted, I was really looking forward to THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, and look how that turned out.

HEROES - The reason Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander were booted off the show was because this cluttered mess of a seasonal arc was their creation. That said, I think Loeb at least still has great skills when it comes to individual episodes (as he more than proved with this fantastic finale), so I wish they'd kept him on board in that capacity. That said, I am psyched that Bryan Fuller (FIREFLY, DEAD LIKE ME, PUSHING DAISIES), who was a main player behind the scenes of season 1, is coming back. He does good work.

I've got to disagree with you guys that, this finale aside, I thought the last few episodes (hell, the season as a whole) were awful, especially the "Eclipse" two-parter. Yes, there's little moments of greatness here and there (Hiro meeting his mom, Seth Green & Breckin Meyer, Noah on the hunt) but they were drowning under the terrible, rushed, contrived plotting and characters that were all over the place. I'm sorry, but I just plain didn't enjoy it.

Correction: Brian Fuller didn't work on FIREFLY. I mistook him for Ben Edlund for a moment. His other credits are correct, though.

You don't need to apologize! I understand that it took so long for you to get this episode out, as there were some issues with the files. Will you consider some proofreadingservices careers in the future?
