Episode Seven: Decoding Illness

Sickness has struck. Again. Actually, based on what we've seen on Twitter, we're not the only one's who keep waking up with sudden headaches and sore throats. Personally, I blame the good old North Carolina weather. We were wearing sweaters in early October, and now we're back in t-shirts and the occasional light-weight jacket. Due to the election there wasn't much tv this week. But that didn't stop us. We're dedicating this week's episode to one of our favorite authors (Faith's been in mourning all week), Michael Crichton, died suddenly on Tuesday, November 4. This week we discuss the two of our regular shows that did air (Gossip Girl and T:SCC) as well as True Blood and the return of Bones (yay!). We also bring you our thoughts on Buffy Season 5, and encourage everyone to check out Felicia Day's webshow "The Guild", which is to begin its second season on November 25.

TV week: (6:45-20:15) Gossip Girl, T:SCC, Bones, True Blood

Music used in this episode:
"Why Don't You Come Over" by Garbage
"Strong" by Velvet Chain
"The Feel Good Drag" by Anberlin
"Decode" by Paramore

Great to hear that season 2 of The Guild will be out. I am really looking forward to it, and think it is by far the best role that Felicia Day has had. In a bit of news about another project of hers, www.amazonmp3.com is running a sale on the Dr. Horrible soundtrack for $5 (it started Friday, not sure when it ends).

Hey, the copy of TWILIGHT I picked up is the cheap movie cover version, too!

Yeah, it's a shame about Michael Crichton, but I certainly did see several bits of coverage about his death Tuesday night, with more detailed reports the following day. It's sad that his story was almost lost, but understandable given the circumstances.

I've only read six of his books, but all were quite good and I'm definitely looking forward to the rest. It's unfortunate that we won't get more.

As a fan, Faith, how many films from his directorial career have you seen?

And, no, he wasn't the head guy on E.R. He did create the series and wrote the first episode (which was based on his own experiences as a medical intern, related in FIVE PATIENTS), but had little involvement beyond that.
