Episode Five: The Little Podcast That Could

We're back with another episode! On yet another week in which our lives have intruded far too much into our podcasting duties, Faith finally accomplishes the task of actually taking the GRE, and Ky is sick. TV this week was excellent, as always, and we loved it, as always. In addition, we examine our least favorite season of one of our all time favorite shows, Buffy, as well as the beginnings of Angel season one.

Ok, I'm tired, and intro posts are hard to make witty and fresh every time, so I give up. Listen and enjoy freaks.

(Sorry, I was channeling my inner Cordelia. She's gone now and I apologize. Forgive me and enjoy your week!)

TV Week: (4:00-19:15) Gossip Girl, Chuck, Heroes, T:SCC

Music used in this epsiode:
"Boom Swagger Boom" by The Murder City Devils
"Wicked Game" by HIM
"How She Died" by Treble Charger
"Sex Is Not the Enemy" by Garbage

Hehe, sorry about that. I should've had Faith wait to post the show info until after the podcast was uploaded. Our podcast host is not cooperating with me right now, but I'm working on the problem. Hopefully it'll be posted soon.
Thanks for the interest! :)

Is it just me, or is TSCC getting better and better with each new episode? I was worried, with the problems in "Automatics For the People", that this series was on a decline, but they've more than exceeded my expectations since then. Now, if only they could just pick up the pace a tad so plot threads like the Weaver/Ellison investigation or Cameron's chip don't drag on and on before being slightly resolved in a way that drags it on and on yet again before resolving it a bit more.

I thought she started out weak, but Shirley Manson absolutely nailed the character of Weaver this episode. For the first time, I actually believed she was a machine as she struggled to deal with a mother-daughter relationship. And I think it's interesting that she can't recognize the Turk's joke when she herself has made a couple of quips. It raises questions regarding her concept of humor.

I'm waiting on Jesse. There's some interesting ideas there, but I'll see where they go before deciding.

And what did both of you think about John's possible suicide attempt? It makes sense that all of this pressure is starting to build to an overwhelming degree but ... I guess I'll have to wait and see where they go with that, too.

And was anyone else waiting for a funny scene between Cameron and the therapist? I know we got to hear the results, but that's a conversation I'd still like to see.

I thought Nicole Ritchie did okay on CHUCK, but I'm an old BOY MEETS WORLD FAN so Ben Savage (as her nerdy husband) was the standout for me with his hero worshipping of Agent Carmichael.

HEROES was awesome this week. From the confrontation of Peter and Sylar to the way their powers tie to those of their father, from Matt's meeting with Daphne to Claire and her two moms taking on the puppeteer, this was definitely my favorite of the season so far. And not only do I love that Ando is still alive, but that they did it in a way that is so perfectly Hiro and Ando.

My one single gripe is that I'm still not entirely sold on the Suresh plot. Him injecting himself and suffering side effects is clever, but this whole bit with him adhering random people (and Maya!) to the wall just doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon. And the meeting with Nathan and Tracy was somewhat awkwardly staged. I hope they work out the wrinkles pretty soon.

I absolutely loved the first season of VERONICA MARS, but never saw the rest. It's yet another thing on that infinite list of stuff to do.

Yes, I listened to the end.
